Have you noticed them?
The missing girls?
Their faces screaming at you from the photos edges?
There you are scrolling through Facebook, minding your own business, when her face pops up. Another girl who disappeared into thin air. Her family pleads for her to be returned. They wait silently as the hours tick by. My heart catches in my throat and the Spirit cries out. I rage at the realities she may be facing at this moment and my mind aches, knowing that she may never come home.
Her hours turn into days, her days into months, until the blur of strange men, forced drug addiction, no sleep and no food send her over the edge. Her hope vanishes and she looks for ways to die. Lucky for her the minute she walked away with her trafficker her mortality rate went up 200%. (Go Here for more statistics).
the cry of Daughter Zion gasping for breath,
stretching out her hands and saying,
“Alas! I am fainting;
my life is given over to murderers.” Jeremiah 4:31
Our children cry out, and our hearts are ache. But what can we do with a problem so big?
Notice her, look in her eyes and pray for her.
Pray for those on the front lines, to have strength in the midst of horror and peace for the souls of the lost. God has instituted the draft and every hand is needed. The war has just begun and we are charged to fight.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6
